Katherine Drew

Katherine Drew

I’m Katherine and I am a BABCP accredited Cognitive Behavioural Therapist (CBT). I am also trained in Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing (EMDR), and Compassion Focussed Therapy (CFT). Alongside being a psychotherapist, I am a Level 3 qualified Reflexologist. The ever growing evidence about the importance of the link between our physical and mental health and my first hand experience of the effectiveness of complementary therapies highlighted the benefits of being able to offer both these approaches. Professionally, and at home where I have young children, I am passionate about developing strategies to optimise physical health and psychological wellbeing as an alternative or to complement medical treatments. I recognise the challenges that come with balancing work and having a family. It is important to me to work with clients to integrate these strategies into their family and professional life.

I have been working in mental health for over 15 years in a range of NHS and private settings delivering individual and group therapy. Prior to this I worked with children and young people in educational and advisory roles. I have seen first hand the value of giving clients the time they need to talk, to be heard and the empowerment that comes with awareness and understanding.

I am in a privileged position to be able to bring together my psychological skills and knowledge with my complementary therapy expertise to provide an individualised and holistic treatment whether that be through CBT or Reflexology or a combination of the two. I have a curious and person centred approach with my clients driven by an appreciation that we are all different people on different journeys.

Katherine Drew: A REFLEXOLOGIST

I chose to train as a reflexologist to enable me to be able offer an alternative or additional treatment option, for not only those who struggle with symptoms of with anxiety and depression, but also those who are in need of relaxation and restorative time or those struggling with physical symptoms or health and lifestyle difficulties.

My reflexology journey started, and my passion ignited, when I had reflexology to induce labour with my first child. Eight hours after treatment she arrived with a straight forward natural delivery. When I was 10 days overdue with my 2nd child, induction looming, I turned again to reflexology, and she arrived the following day with another quick and straight forward labour.  Through giving and receiving reflexology treatments it never ceases to amaze me the physical imbalances that can be picked up through our feet and the symptoms that it can alleviated.  I have directly experienced the positive impact that reflexology has had on my own and my children’s sleep, immune system, pain levels and worry/stress levels.

My aim as a reflexologist is to provide a tailormade, relaxing and balancing treatment and to give you, or family members, the time and space to optimise and maintain your physical and psychological health to help you function at your best.  Reflexology is a great way of taking time out from our busy lives, having some all-important “you time”, and experiencing deep relaxation.

Qualifications:

  • Level 3 Reflexology Diploma
    – Anatomy and Physiology
    – Complementary Therapies
    – Business
  • Further Training: Reflexology Treatments with deeper pressure
